Advert Description

1985 Marshall "1987" JCM800 era 50w non master volume head.

A bit of a rarity to find a 1987 from the JCM800 era but here one is!

It's in great condition for its year, in very good cosmetic condition and in full working order having recently been serviced and PAT tested. Points to note:

• Casework is all original, including the original style sprung feet which have seen minimal deterioration.
• Chassis in very good condition with minor marks commensurate with age, the most notable being a scratch to the rear panel.
• Matching set of original Drake transformers and choke, all in excellent working condition.
• Matched pair of Svetlana "Winged C" EL34s, bias checked and in excellent working order.
• Preamp valves are made up of an unmarked ECC83, Golden Dragon ECC83 and an unnamed but red marked ECC83M, all in excellent working order.
• All valves have been tested to be in good condition according to my Orange Valve Tester and have had their gradings affixed to the valves.
• Two new volume potentiometers have been fitted by a previous owner. These appear to be in good working order so I have made the decision to leave them as they are.
• The four original potentiometers have been cleaned with switch cleaner and remain in good working order.
• Both fuses checked and ensured to be of correct value.
• All six knobs have been replaced with brand new replacements.
• The amp has successfully passed a professional PAT test.

Not only does this amp look great, it sounds great too and delivers the classic Marshall tone in spades. This amp would be perfect for the collector, studio owner, and could still do a turn as a gigging amp.

Collection from near Yate, South Gloucestershire.
