Advert Description
Due to a change in circumstances, I am looking for a long term loan for Toffee with the potential of buying her if the right person comes along. I want to be incredibly honest in the ad to help her find the perfect person. I bought Toffee with the intention of keeping her as my forever horse but unfortunately my circumstances mean this is no longer possible.
Toffee is around 15.1, she is a 7yr old mare and is Warmblood X Native. Toffee was broken in by myself at 4 yrs old and has 3 good paces.
Toffee is very trusting and willing to learn, she can be marish at times, but never horrible and is a very sweet girl. She loves to do pole/small jump work and have a play around in the school/fields.
Toffee is good to groom, bath, clip, she is good for the farrier, vet, chiropractor and saddle fitter.
Toffee was good to load and travel however, she hasn’t travelled for the last 2-3 years. She has walked in and out of the trailer with no problems but we haven’t been out anywhere due to lack of time.
Toffee is happy to live in or out. She will live with mares or gelding however she is used to having her own paddock. She does like to come in if the weather is horrible.
Toffee does head shake intermittently. It seems to be more noticeable when there is a high pollen count or if she is stressed. At present Toffee does not hack alone. She is nervous of traffic and needs another horse or 2 with her to give her the confidence she needs. Despite her fear, she has always been honest and moved past what is worrying her. She has recently had a bad experience with a car and needs help to rebuild her confidence.
I feel that with a confident rider, some reassurance and consistency, she has a lot of potential and will hopefully overcome her fear of traffic.
Toffee is currently kept at a livery yard as she is a companion to my older retired boy.
Please no time wasters as this has been a really hard decision.
