Advert Description

For sale is my lovingly, hand built from scratch Paludarium.

This is the largest 900x900x450mm tank and comes with the bespoke stand with glass doors.

My partner and I spent five months building this which included spray foaming, carving, coating with cocoa fibre, embedding the branches, plumbing, electrical work, building waterfall and pond feature plus all the planting and lighting setup.

This was a very technical build due to the pond having a false wall. The heater, filter and pump to run the waterfall are hidden behind carefully constructed lava rocks that can be taken apart in glued sections for easy maintenance.

Living within the Paludarium are the following animals which are thriving!

Mourning Geckos (laying lots of eggs),
Azurus Dart Frogs x 3,
Vampire crabs (multiplying daily with lots of babies and juveniles within the rocks),
Giant woodlice (actively breeding),
Neon tetras & guppies,
Shrimps (actively breeding),
Catfish x 2,
Various snails,
Loaches.

This build cost more then £1400 which included the tank, stand, materials for inside (lava rocks, fibre, foam, silicone, plants, pump, heater, filter, cabeling and tubing), UV Light, LED light, heat Lamp, heat mat, temperature / humidity sensor, automated spray system, fan etc.

I really do not want to sell this as it took a lot of effort to build and watching everything thriving is very rewarding. I am however looking to move to a smaller home so it's unrealistic of me to think I can keep all my tanks (I have two of these big ones and several small ones).

If I have to keep this because I can't recoup enough money to make up for some of the expenditure then I will keep it but I would like it to go onto someone who is as fascinated as me by this hobby.

I would like to get something back in the region of £800 as the tank, stand and lighting are worth this if brought together new.
