Markie is a 16yr old 11.2hh registered Welsh section A with a green Welsh mountain pony passport. He is that “golden pony” everyone looks for for there child first learning to ride. He is exceptional to handle, will stand and be fussed over all day, he is completely bomb proof in traffic (confirmed this the other day by passing 6 silaging tractors and trailers and a combine and didn’t bat an eye).
Can be taken off the lead rein & he doesn’t have that urge to want to go fast/bolt etc he needs more of a leg to get on as he is that used to following people on lead rein. I have lead him whilst pushing our youngest in the pram and our eldest on board, had both of our children on him at very young ages (under 2 years) and he looks after them extremely well.
He has no vices, he just needs to be closely monitored when on grass to prevent laminitis. He has never had laminitis according to our vet but we are always on the watch incase as these little ponies like to eat more than they should.
He is perfect in every way, I have owned him since he was 18m old and he’s been with me and put on loan hear and there for years.
I feel now he needs to have a home where he is being loved and used more by kids who are interested as unfortunately mine are not and hopefully a home he’ll be at for the rest of his life.
This has been a heartbreaking decision to make and one not taken lightly but I’m just trying to do right by him. We are based near Carlisle airport.
