Meet Tomas!
This handsome boar was advertised for free on Facebook with his brother and unfortunately their cage was very small - just 80cm, for two rather podgy adult boys! They had only woodshavings, straw and an upturned, empty bowl. They were in fairly good health but definitely needed to go on a diet.
Tomas is still nervous to pick up but will happily take a snack from your hands. He also enjoys a long cuddle but make sure you don't have any plans because once he's comfy he won't budge! He likes to climb, and spends lots of time on top of his wooden house checking out what's going on around him. He has a very high pitched wheek and has quite a lot to say when he hears the fridge opening.
He was quite a dominant boar and decided to endlessly pester his brother so has been neutered in order for a sow (or 3, or 4!) to keep him in check!
Tomas was castrated on 19/3/24 and, now 6 weeks post op, he is looking for a home with a lady pig or a group of them.
He experienced some issues with incontinence and bladder sludge after his op, which have resolved, although he will need a special diet to help reduce the risk of bladder stones.
